Tesla Expands Full Self-Driving v14 Rollout to More Owners

Tesla is expanding access to its Full Self-Driving (FSD) v14 software after an initial limited release through the Early Access Program (EAP). The update marks the company’s most significant FSD upgrade in over a year, introducing new features and refined driving behavior.
The original v14 rollout began almost two weeks ago but was confined to a small group of EAP participants as Tesla evaluated performance and safety feedback.
Major New Features in FSD v14
FSD v14 introduced a series of highly anticipated features designed to make Tesla’s autonomous driving experience smoother and more human-like.
Among the highlights are:
- “Sloth” Driving Profile: A new, slower and more cautious mode for relaxed driving.
- Destination Parking: Ability to park in a driver-designated area upon arrival.
- Parking Garage Navigation: Improved low-speed maneuvering and multi-level recognition.
- Emergency Vehicle Response: Enhanced yielding and detection capabilities.
- Road Debris Handling: Better object recognition and avoidance.
- Smoother Ride Dynamics: A more natural driving feel with reduced hesitation.
These upgrades make v14 the most capable and polished version of Tesla’s FSD suite to date.
Version 14.1.2 Adds “Mad Max” Speed Profile
Tesla has now started to widen the rollout of FSD with the v14.1.2 update, which went live last night. This version introduces the “Mad Max” Speed Profile, a more assertive setting that allows higher travel speeds and quicker lane changes.
Early adopters have praised the new mode for its confident handling in congestion and heavy traffic, addressing prior concerns about FSD’s occasional hesitation.
Controlled Expansion to Wider User Base
The expansion marks a key milestone in Tesla’s cautious deployment strategy. After keeping FSD v14 within the Early Access Program for nearly two weeks, the update is now reaching more standard Tesla owners.
As the rollout continues, Tesla is expected to push incremental refinements and introduce additional features in upcoming updates over the next few weeks.
